295 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine S ince she was young, Jenny Lloyd Norton had a desire to evoke and implement change within her community. Her father, a college professor and social activist, and her mother, a social worker and activist, were instrumental to her pursuing a career in social justice. After she met her husband at a liberal arts college, they both became focused on a journey of social activism. She received a Bachelor of Arts in social justice from Arizona State University in 1993, and a Master of Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1997. She began her career as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives District 27. Making a change to serve a higher power, she became assistant pastor at Desert Springs Foursquare Church and later a senior pastor at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital. She has served on the board of directors of Miracles in Abundance Ministry since 2003, on the board of the Tempe Community Action Agency, and as a member of a congressional military academy selection committee and the Tempe Industrial Development Authority Board. Currently, Ms. Norton is focusing on her positions with the Ramsey Social Justice Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, through which she aims to work with women interested in environmental conservation and sustainable construction in Arizona and Guatemala. She has received many awards for her tireless efforts, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tempe Chamber of Commerce in 2010, the Friend of Phoenix Union Award, the Service in Action Award from the Tempe Community Action Agency, and induction into the Hall of Fame at the Arizona State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2007.
