222 MILLENNIUM W ith an Associate of Applied Science and an Associate of Arts from Orange County Community College, a Bachelor of Science and completed graduate work at the State University of New York at New Paltz, as well as completed coursework at John Herron School of Art and Design, Charleen Verena Kavleski had all of the tools she needed to be a successful conceptual artist and sculptor. Ms. Kavleski began her career in 1968 as an art teacher at Monticello Central School District. She served in that capacity for 31 years while also working as an antiques and art dealer at Brockmann’s from 1983 to 2009. During her tenure there, she was also an art advisor editor for Lit & Art Magazine, Robert J. Kaiser Middle School and the Monticello Central School District. She continued to make headway in her career, serving as treasurer of Amos Eno Gallery from 1991 to 1994 and a board member since 2014. She has also been an art dealer for Albatross Antiques since 2009. Among her greatest career achievements is having her works displayed by the Catskills Artist Gallery, the Amos Eno Gallery, the Franklin Square Gallery, the Shimizu America Corporation, the National Association of Women Artists, Inc., and a number of private individual collections. Additionally, she was commissioned by Dr. Gustav Gavis, Dr. Goddard Lainjo and Christopher Coleman to create installations of painted constructions. Ms. Kavleski has been featured in Les Krantz’s New York Art Review, America References, Times Herald Record, Temple Emanuel, the Sullivan County Democratic and at the Bau Gallery. She has also had her artwork displayed in many group and solo exhibitions at art galleries in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California and Montana. Ms. Kavleski remains a member of the National Association of Women Artists, Inc., the New York State Art Teachers Association, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Catskill Art Society, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
