296 MILLENNIUM T he well respected and very talented Patarica Dian Nunn was a directory assistance operator for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Hot Springs, Arkansas, from 1978 until her retirement in 2003. Outside of her career, she has dedicated her life to pursuing her craft as a poet. She writes poems that inspire, influence and reflect her connection to people, their spirituality, and the world. In 1994, she entered her poem “A True Mother’s Love” into a poetry contest and was chosen by Howard Ely to be admitted into the National Library of Poetry. That poem was then featured in “Carvings of Stone: The National Library of Poetry.” Ms. Nunn also served as a member of the board of directors and advisory committee of the National Library of Poetry. Ms. Nunn has had the opportunity to work with Hill Top Records to transform her poetry into music. Some of her songs are “My Moment of Miles,” “Time,” “Mellow Drifting,” and “Sassy Sassy Lady,” while her poetry includes “Sacred Memories,” “A True Mother’s Love,” “A True Father’s Love,” “Out in Left Field,” “A Breath of Fresh Air,” and “Stars Delight Game.” Ms. Nunn is in the process of writing another book of poems entitled, “My Poetry Number IV,” which is slated for release between 2017 and 2018. She remains active in her field through her memberships in the Poetry Guild and the National Authors Registry. Her hard work and dedication led to her being named to the International Poetry Hall of Fame in 1997 and being featured in its museum.
