299 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine N ils Oeijord has over four decades of experience in agriculture and is a well-known agricultural studies educator. His education prepared him for his lengthy career, beginning with his enrollment as a candidate in agricultural studies at the Agricultural University of Norway in 1973. After completing his time at the university, he immediately began working as a researcher at an agricultural experimental station. He served in that position for three years, leaving in 1976 and joining Tromsø University College as a lecturer before becoming an assistant professor of mathematics. He remained in that capacity until his retirement in 2000. In addition to his agricultural career, he has been a science writer, researcher of plant production and science and mathematics lecturer in high schools. Due to his diligence and dedication to his field, Mr. Oeijord has achieved much throughout his lengthy career. His most significant achievement was the discovery of the general genetic catastrophe, which explores the high and increasing prevalence of gene damage and genetic diseases that prove the theory’s existence. He detailed this discovery in his book, “The General Genetic Catastrophe: On the Discovery and the Discoverer” and wrote others, including “Why Gould Was Wrong,” and “Why Minus Times Minus is Plus: The Very Basic Mathematics of Real and Complex Numbers.” In addition, his agricultural research has appeared in numerous articles published in professional journals. Mr. Oeijord’s hard work, drive and dedication have been recognized with many accolades and awards. As a testament to his success, he was featured in six editions of Who’s Who in the World published between 2010 and 2016.
