303 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine S ally Jacquelyn Page is former management lecturer who stumbled upon her career. Ms. Page attended school during the civil rights movement and was a research administrator for a university. When the ideas of the movement spread to her university, she was afforded the opportunity to work as an assistant to the president on equal opportunities and affirmative action for the institution. The skills and experience she gained through volunteerism during this historic time aided in her progression to a successful career. She earned a degree in political science, which at the time was an unconventional choice. Following her intuition, she stayed with the profession and gained a position as an assistant to a university president who had vast knowledge of the field. During her tenure, she directed an office that expanded to focus on minority and women’s issues. Over the past four decades, Ms. Page has been a copy editor, an editorial consultant, a research administrator, a university officer and a lecturer in management. Additionally, she has been a political commentator for KFJM radio station, a National Public Radio affiliate and a member of the mayor’s committee on employment of people with disabilities. She has given back by serving on several boards within her community and has contributed articles to professional journals. She remains active in her field as a member of the American Association of University Women, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity. Ms. Page’s definition of success is feeling good about what you do and making a contribution to the community. She has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
