312 MILLENNIUM G ail S. Phillips is an elementary school teacher who has taught students in the state of Washington for over three decades. To prepare for her career, Ms. Phillips earned an Associate of Arts from Spokane Falls Community College in 1982, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Engineering in 1985, and a Master of Arts from Eastern Washington University in 1992. In 1986, she began working as a teacher for Port Townsend High School. After a short time in that role, she went on to gain several years of experience at Gonzaga Preparatory High School, the Auburn School District, the Mead School District 354 and Totem Middle School. She is currently a member of the faculty at Chase Middle School, which she joined after 10 years at Kalles Junior High School in Puyallup, Washington. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Phillips was secretary of a student chapter of the National Association for Music Education from 1983 to 1984, vice president of the Eastern Washington chapter of NAME from 1987 to 1988, and the PTA faculty advisor for Totem Middle School from 1996 to 1997.
