322 MILLENNIUM N ed Robertson diagnoses and treats problems with patients’ teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth while providing advice and instruction on dental care for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Robertson has been actively helping to improve the oral health of many since 1975, when he began working as a faculty advisor to medical students at Ohio State University. He continued to gain knowledge, becoming a research consultant for the Ohio Department of Health from 1976 to 1977, and a research associate at UCLA in 1977. With his newfound skills, he obtained positions as an epidemiology and statistics consultant, a medic for the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation and a professor at Cuyahoga Community College. He was also an assistant professor and assistant clinical professor in the department of general practice dentistry at the School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. His most recent role involves serving as director of dentistry for the Penobscot National Health Department. In addition to his past work at several educational institutions, Dr. Robertson ran a private practice in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, from 1983 to 1994, and another private practice in Lyndhurst, Ohio, from 1995 to 2000. He has also given back to his community and received a number of research grants. Dr. Robertson earned a Bachelor of Science in biology at Antioch College, a Master of Science in epidemiology at Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery and a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University. He keeps abreast of his field as a member of the American Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and the International Association for the Study of Pain. Other organizations with which he is affiliated include the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Midwest Pain Society, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the United States Dental Institute, the American Chronic Pain Association, the Ohio Academy of General Dentistry, the American Pain Society and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management.
