323 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine T o be a successful lawyer, one must have the drive to seek justice, be assertive and be determined to discover the truth like Nicholas Robinson. With over four decades of experience in the legal field, it is no wonder how Mr. Robinson has maintained positions as emeritus professor at Pace University since 2013, an adjunct professor at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies since 2005, a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and an honorary member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature since 2012. He graduated cum laude from Brown University and Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1967 and 1970, respectively. He worked as a law clerk for the district judge of the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York from 1970 to 1972, and gained admittance to the New York State Bar, the United States District Court’s Southern and Eastern districts, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals Second and Seventh Circuits in 1972. Mr. Robinson continued to excel in his career, becoming an associate and counsel for Marshall, Bratter, Greene, Allison & Tucker from 1972 to 1982. He has also lent his legal expertise to the IUCN as their legal advisor and served as chair from 2004 to 2008. As part of his legal career, he is a co-director for the Global Center for Environmental Legal Studies at Pace University, a position he has held since 1982. He also established an environmental law program for the department and has been a member of the environmental social advisory council of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development since 2005.
