330 MILLENNIUM M edical technologists like Sharon V. Rudacille determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids and analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic technology. Registered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, Ms. Rudacille was a medical technologist at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center from 1972 until retiring in 2006. In addition to her career in health care, she has served in an educational capacity as an instructor from 1972 to 1976, an associate coordinator of education from 1976 to 1977, and an adjunct faculty member at Shepherd College (now Shepherd University) and Shippensburg State College (now Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania). Ms. Rudacille was also an education coordinator from 1977 to 1978 and a laboratory service quality assurance and education officer from 1980 to 1984. Additionally, she has been a clinical chemistry section leader, a supervisory medical technologist, and a senior medical technologist for the School of Medical Technology. To prepare for her career, Ms. Rudacille received a Bachelor of Science from Shepherd College in 1972. She is a member of the Shepherd College Alumni Association, the West Virginia Society of Medical Technologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and the American Society of Medical Technicians. She has been featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
