332 MILLENNIUM R etired engineering executive Guy Saint-Pierre has over three decades of professional experience in the field. Mr. Saint-Pierre began his career as vice president of Acres Quebec serving in that position for three years. His leadership experience garnered him positions with the government of Quebec, including minister of education and of industry and commerce. As he continued to prosper in his career, he continued to obtain many executive positions for engineering companies such as president, chief operating officer, on the board of directors, and director. He served as chairman of the board for the Royal Bank of Canada from 2001 until his retirement in 2004. In addition to his career, Mr. Saint- Pierre has served as director of Bell Canada Enterprises from 1994 to2003, the Institute for Research on Public Policy from 2003 to 2011, GM Canada from 1995 to 2004, Rio Tinto Alcan Inc., from 1995 to 2007, as well as chairman of Business Council of Canada from 1995 to 1997. Mr. Saint-Pierre is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, the Engineering Institute of Canada, Montreal Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Unity Council, and the Mount Royal Club. His career is backed by a Bachelor in Applied Science in civil engineering from Laval University, a diploma from Imperial College and a Master of Science from the University of London. He has earned several honorary degrees from institutions, including Concordia University, Royal Military College Saint-Jean, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, Montreal University, and Ottawa University. He earned many awards in the field and has been featured in Who’s Who in Business and Finance, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
