339 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine H aving been raised by two educators who were focused on being lifelong learners, it was only fitting that Susan Schall would follow a career path that resembled her parents’ main goal. Before embarking on a successful career, Dr. Schall obtained a Bachelor of Science in math from SUNY Fredonia, and a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering fromThe Pennsylvania State University. In addition to her educational credentials, she is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt. After obtaining the necessary skills, she began her career as a quality engineer with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. She moved to DuPont as consulting engineer in its Quality Management &Technology Center inWilmington, Del., and later worked as a technical control system superintendent for DuPont Engineering Polymers in Parkersburg, W.Va., and as a methodology director for RR Donnelley, Inc. in Chicago, Ill., before establishing her consulting practice. Additionally, she earned a six black belt certification fromGeneral Electric Lighting inWinchester, Va. Although she has achieved much in her career and has over 30 years of experience in statistical and business process improvement technologies, she is most proud of SOS Consulting’s COMPETE program that works with leaders of small-to-mediummanufacturers to establish the six essentials for productivity and profitability. Dr. Schall remains active through her affiliations and memberships with organizations such as the American Society for Engineering Education, the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, and the American Society for Quality. Dr. Schall has served Accreditation Board for Engineering andTechnology, Inc., (ABET) as a representative of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers, evaluating industrial engineering programs around the country for the last 25 years and consulting with new programs since 2014. Dr. Schall has received many awards and accolades for her contributions to her field. She attributes her success to her relationships with family and friends and her desire to make a positive impact on the world without compromising her values. Susan O.
