347 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine P aul M. Sengpiehl is a legal expert in the Chicago area who has worked in the public sector since 1970. Backed by a Bachelor of Arts from Wheaton College, a Master of Arts in public administration from Michigan State University, and a Juris Doctor from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Mr. Sengpiehl was well-equipped for his professional career. He started as an administrative assistant at the Chicago Department of Urban Renewal and later became a supervisor for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. From the experience gained in both positions, he was ready to tackle bureaucratic issues as a management officer for the Illinois Department of Local and Governmental Affairs. He continued to progress in government as legal counsel, special assistant attorney general and assistant attorney general, gaining admittance to the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to his legal career, Mr. Sengpiehl also delved into education as a political science instructor at Judson College in 1963. A religious man who earned a license to minister in 2007 and an ordination to minister in 2009, he is affiliated with the Cook County Correctional Chaplaincy Council and the Cook County Jail Ministry. He is the author of several works, including “The Centennial Graduation Class of Wheaton College,” “The Class of 1969 Remembered,” and two musical compositions that were performed publically. Mr. Sengpiehl is a member of the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
