396 MILLENNIUM W illiam Jerome Vereen has made a name for himself in his field with over four decades of experience. As the founder of Riverside Manufacturing Company, Inc., he has been with the company since its inception, holding the positions of vice president, executive vice president, president, director, treasurer and chief executive officer. He also serves as chairman of the board of the Irish branch of the company. During his tenure with Riverside, he began working for Moultrie Cotton Mills and has served as its vice president and director since 1969. In addition to his positions with the Riverside Manufacturing Company and Moultrie Cotton Mills, Mr. Vereen has served as president, treasurer chief executive officer, and member of the board of directors of the Textile/Clothing Technology Corporation. He previously served as chairman, first and second vice president, and member of the board of directors of the International Apparel Federation. He also held leadership roles with the American Apparel Manufacturers Association and the North-American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors. Mr. Vereen remains active and abreast of his field as a member of the American Apparel Education Foundation, for which he was vice president and trustee; the Capital City Club; the Commerce Club; the World Economic Forum; the Sunset Country Club; and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1963 and received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
