452 MILLENNIUM F alah El-Haddawi has over 30 years of experience in the medical field. Currently a consultant surgeon in breast, endocrine and general surgery, Dr. El-Haddawi has treated patients in New Zealand since 1997, when he immigrated to the country from Iraq. After working as a surgical registrar for Auckland Healthcare and Capital Coast Health, he served as a supervisor of training, and practicing surgeon at Taranaki Base Hospital. He then became clinical director of surgical services for the Taranaki District Health Board and was a member of its endoscopy user group and credentialing committee. In addition to practicing medicine, he is an honorary clinical senior lecturer at Auckland University and the University of Otago. He was previously a visiting surgeon at Hawera Hospital and Southern Cross Hospital, as well as an assistant surgeon at Middle East Hospital and Al Mustansiriya Hospital. Dr. El-Haddawi is a fellow of the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specializations, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. El- Haddawi graduated from the University of Baghdad with a Doctor of Medicine in surgery in 1985 and received an Obex Award in 2006. N eurobiologists like Araceli Marie Espinosa- Jeffrey study the structure and development of the nervous system, as well as how the nervous system affects neurological functions and behavior. To prepare for her career, Dr. Espinosa-Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Autonomous University Mexico and a PhD in neurochemistry from University Louis Pasteur. After completing a PhD, she made a home for herself at UCLA, where she held positions such as postdoctoral fellow, research associate, level I associate research biologist, and level I and II research neurobiologist. Currently she is a research neurobiologist at the institution’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center. With her extensive research she has been able to contribute articles to professional journals and has earned many achievements, including the invention of several formulas such as the ability to grow and propagate neural stem cells to induce neural stem cells, to commit to the oligodendrocyte lineage, to induce and sustain remyelination of the post natal and adult central nervous system and the invention of optimization of cell culture system for induced pleripotent stem all to heeral fate with virtual microgravity.
