468 MILLENNIUM K athryn B. Hull is a composer, writer and teacher of piano and music theory. Throughout her career, Ms. Hull has utilized her musical talents to obtain positions as a music teacher for Mount Olive Christian Elementary School, managing director of Guild Opera Co., teacher of music theory at the College of the Desert, and as an independent music teacher and composer. In addition to imparting her knowledge and passion to others, she has also authored several books and has contributed articles to professional journals in the field. As an avid believer in giving back, she has dedicated much of her time to her community, serving in various capacities. Ms. Hull is the composer and former music director for five stage musicals that have been presented in Hollywood. She co-founded The Associates of Brand Library Art Center in Glendale, California, and founded the Glendale Regional Arts Council, the Glendale Youth Orchestra, the Coachella Valley Arts Alliance and Encore! Ms. Hull is a member of Music Teachers of the Desert, the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, Associates of Brand Library and Art Center and Music Teachers National Association. Ms. Hull holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pasadena College. L icensed physical therapist Kay Hetherington Hummel has aided those with physical injuries and illnesses while helping them to regain range of movement and manage pain for over five decades. Ms. Hummel became interested in her career at the tender of age of 16. After attending a career night where a physical therapist showed slides demonstrating her job description and responsibilities, she decided that she too wanted to be able to help those in need. Beginning as a staff physical therapist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1966, she continued to excel, obtaining similar positions at institutions such as Wrightwood Extended Care Facility, Suburban Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital. Wanting to branch out on her own, she opened a private practice in Shreveport that has been running since 1985. While running her own practice, she also became a board member of GUMBO, Inc. from 1996 to 2002, and later returned to that position in 2008. Ms. Hummel remains a member of PresbyterianWomen and PresbyterianWomen in the Presbytery. She has received many accolades for her contributions, including the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, amongst others. Ms. Hummel was an itinerant physical therapist for 33 years with Caddo Parish School System. Kathryn B.
