479 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine A s a physician assistant, Johnny Lum works with teams of physicians, surgeons, nurses and other health care professionals to examine, diagnose and treat patients. Presently working out of Waterbury Hospital and Danbury Internal Medicine Associates, a private practice he’s been employed with since 2003, Mr. Lum has also served as a physician assistant for Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., Beth Israel Medical Center and The Vein Treatment Center in New York City, as well as the Arthritis Center of Connecticut. Prior to obtaining his current position, he earned a certification in respiratory therapy, a physician assistant bachelor’s degree, and a certification in surgical technology. In addition to his role in the health care field, he has also been a consultant for Pfizer and was lead project designer in a World Trade Center site memorial competition. Mr. Lum, who is affiliated with the Society of Physician Assistants in Rheumatology, the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of PAs, has been included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare in recognition of his career accomplishments. A nne Russell Mayeaux is the former director of the World Peace Center and postdoctoral fellow and adjunct faculty of the Chandler School of Theology. Dr. Mayeaux has dedicated 14 years of service to the fields of education and religion. She was inspired by an ancient history professor who taught her about the Life of Socrates at 15 years old. It was then she realized she wanted to study philosophy. One of the highlights of her career was when she traveled to Iraq in 1991 for two months as an activist walking over landmines while learning about the plight of hospitalized children. Throughout her career, she has continued to serve her community in many capacities, including being on the board of directors of the National Assembly of Religious Women from 1991 to 1994 and as the former president of Las Casas. Dr. Mayeaux remains a member of the American Association of University Professors where she served as vice president of the Siena Heights University chapter in 1995 and the American Academy of Religion, serving as the south east region’s chair of the program section from 1975 to 1991.
