515 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine Y oko Williams has been successful in music and academia as a result of her father’s teachings, personality and the relationship they shared. Dr. Williams’ father, grandfather and great-grandfather were medical doctors, and they instilled in her that the purpose of studying was first to become a qualified professional to serve others, and second to acquire and master knowledge. Having always been interested in oriental and occidental philosophy, she began her career as an orientalist and learned more about both disciplines. Dr. Williams mentored under prominent figures in her field, such as Dr. James McMullen, who supervised her doctoral thesis, and Dr. Marjorie Reeves. Currently a lecturer at Waseda University, she has also acquired a second career as a singer. Known by the stage name Ortansia Oje, she released two albums that have been positively received and hopes more people will listen to her music in the future. She currently has concerts in Tokyo but would like to perform outside of Japan and publish more essays on poetry, prayers and thinking. B oard certified in hematology, internal medicine andmedical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, HenvaiWu has diagnosed, treated and prevented blood cells and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia and lymphoma for over 45 years. To prepare for his career, Dr. Wu earned a medical degree from the National Taiwan University College of Medicine. Before becoming the prominent doctor he is in the field, he honed his medicinal skills as an intern at Mount Vernon Hospital and continued his fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He furthered his education and medical training, earning residencies at Capital Health System and St. Peter’s Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Wu specializes in hematology and internal medicine in Somerville, New Jersey, and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including JFKMedical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, St. Peter’s University Hospital and Somerset Medical Center. His contributions to the field have aided him in receiving the Lane AdamNational Award from the American Cancer Society Eastern Division in 2006. Dr. Wu attributes his success to hard work and a dedication to the study of both hematology and oncology.
