419 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine H ealth care administrators like Ann Meagher Williams are responsible for the day- to-day operations of hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations and public health agencies. Ms. Williams’ 43 years of experience have allowed her to maintain several positions throughout her career. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Chestnut Hill College in 1950 and a Master of Science from Boston College in 1952. She then worked as a radioisotope biologist for the Air Force Cambridge Research Center from 1952 to 1955. One year after leaving the research center, she was an assistant manager for the Roxbury Businessmen’s Exchange before owning and operating Chatterlane, becoming a realtor for James E. Murphy Inc., and serving as director of community affairs at Cape Cod Hospital from 1977 until her retirement in 1995. Outside of her career, Ms. Williams has given back to her community as a member of several executive committees, including that of the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation, with which she has been affiliated since 1997. She also traveled to Nigeria to work on defeating polio and has been a Rotarian for 40 years. Ms. Williams was named Woman of the Year by the Business Professional Women’s Club and Volunteer of the Year by YMCA Cape Cod, and she received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Cancer Society, the President’s Recognition Award from United Way Cape Cod, the Life Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and the Mission Impact Champion Award from YMCA Cape Cod. Ms. Williams is a member of the National Association for Hospital Development, Southeast Massachusetts Hospital Marketing & Public Relations, the New England Hospital Marketing & Public Relations Association, the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development, Pure Water for the World, the Rotary Leadership Institute and Rotary International.
