Marquis Who's Who Millennium Magazine
422 MILLENNIUM A uthors like William P. Winebrenner hope to write compelling and innovative stories that will grasp readers’ attention and keep them interested until the last page. Mr. Winebrenner, whose pen name is YNO, enjoyed reading from a young age. However, before embarking on a literary career, he was a journeyman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Toledo, Ohio, from 1968 to 1995. After leaving his position with the union, he met a writer, Dennis Hooker, who suggested that Mr. Winebrenner’s stories should be published. He took heed to those words and began a journey of storytelling. Throughout his fruitful creative writing career, Mr. Winebrenner has authored several works, including “The Wood Walkers,” “Smoke in the Valley,” “Narrowbackin’,” “From Out of the Forest” and “A Place of Evil.” His novels offer firsthand accounts of things he has experienced or relate to stories that have been told to him throughout his lifetime. Many of his stories have been described as “unauthenticated historical folklore” and would never have been told had he not written them. Mr. Winebrenner was contacted by a producer in New York to have his book “From Out of the Forest” made into a movie, which began filming in 2010. Although retired, he occasionally makes public speaking appearances at Southeastern colleges and speaks to the public over local radio stations. Mr. Winebrenner was featured in Who’s Who in America from 2003 to 2007, and Who’s Who in the World from 2000 to 2008. He is currently writing two books due to be published in the near future, and he is also working on his great grandfather’s autobiography. William P. Winebrenner Writer (Retired) Stockport, OH
