425 A Marquis Who's Who Magazine T hrough his expertise as a lawyer, real estate developer and investor, Robert C.C. Wood has guided national and multinational organizations through the legal complexities of myriad real estate transactions for more than 35 years. He pioneered securities and compliance solutions surrounding the Y2K computer systems scare and was a trailblazer in the arena of 401K accounts. He founded and still manages his own private law practice that earned the ranking of Preeminent AV, the highest peer-reviewed rating offered by Martindale Hubbell. While he is humbled by such accolades from his peers, Mr. Wood says one of his most rewarding achievements involved protecting a child in a fierce custody battle involving 19 sets of lawyers. Mr. Wood drove the case to a successful conclusion in the child’s best interest. He ended the traumatic ordeal for the young boy and took satisfaction in watching him grow and thrive in his later years. Mr. Wood’s dream of being a big lawyer was sparked in childhood when his mother, an employee of a law firm, taught him how much good attorneys can do for others. He received a JD from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1982. Mr. Wood has earned a reputation in Dallas as an accomplished litigator in business and family law, especially divorce and child custody cases. In 1998, he became a partner in Welsch & Wood Attorneys and a Y2K consultant until new technologies and the successful passage into the next millennium phased out that business. From 2013 to 2018, Thompson Reuters named Mr. Wood a Texas Super Lawyer. He is the author of such works as “Electionomics: How the Money Managers View the Election,” as well as a contributor to professional publications and a member of the Southern Methodist University Law Review. Mr. Wood is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association and Phi Gamma Delta. Robert C.C. Wood, JD Lawyer Dallas, TX
