12 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION AND REAL ESTATE Len W. Hindsman grew up witnessing his father fixing properties and selling those properties for extra income. Joining his father at the age of 12, he advanced in the field significantly, soon blossoming his love for the construction industry. Congruent to these interests, Mr. Hindsman also developed a love for academia and, from there on, decided to integrate his passions. Over the course of his longstanding career, he was a Director of Construction for Muscogee County School District and managed construction in addition to serving as Assistant Superintendent for Operations for Bibb County School District between 1995 and 2006. Likewise, for the past 14 years, Mr. Hindsman has excelled as the managing member of Leonard W. Hindsman Jr., LLC. During his time with the school systems, Mr. Hindsman delivered $300 million worth of construction over an 11-year period, during which time there were impressively zero legal disputes or major overruns. He is renowned for building the Natalia’s, an elite restaurant in Macon, Georgia, as well as restoring one of the most recognized buildings in downtown Macon, The Hardeman Building. He is a former member of the National Homebuilders Association, who named him a Life Spike in the 1980s. Civically involved as well, Mr. Hindsman served as first president of the Georgia chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International in 2006, was the founder of the Alumni Association of Columbus State University, and is a past leader of a Drug Abuse Control Organization. He has also served as a deacon and Chairman of the Properties Committee at Vineville Baptist Church. Drawing upon an associate degree in biology from Columbus College, a bachelor’s degree in zoology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Georgia, and a master’s degree in education, administration and supervision fromGeorgia State University, Mr. Hindsman was nominated for Personalities of the South in 1972.
