126 FINANCE AND INSURANCE Alongside his primary career endeavors, Mr. Duke is a former mentor for the Memphis Institute of Leadership Education from 2014 to 2018 and former director of professional development for the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants from 2010 to 2012. He has also maintained affiliation with Beta Alpha Psi, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Attributing his success to his perseverance to overcome obstacles and his innate desire to aid clients in tackling their finance-related issues, Mr. Duke intends to ascend the ranks of success to partner of Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC, as he would like to fill the shoes of those in the company who are about to ease into retirement. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, attending sports events, traveling and going to the beach. While coming of age, Micah Z. Duke, CPA, developed a gift for the application and practice of mathematics, which he leveraged to pursue a career in finance. Upon his graduation from high school, he attended the University of Memphis in Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1998, as well as a Master of Arts in taxation in 1999. While studying toward his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Mr. Duke completed several internships in taxation and accounting, and has since applied his foundation of knowledge to several tax firms. Since 2018, Mr. Duke has excelled as a tax manager with Alexander Thompson Arnold PLLC in Memphis. Earlier in his career, he served in the same capacities for many tax firms, including BDO Seidman LLP from 1999 to 2008, Joseph Decosimo & Company from 2008 to 2011, Horne LLP from 2011 to 2013, and CBIZ MHM LLC from 2013 to 2018.
