After her training, she received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine, with whom she maintains diplomate status. Ossoff joined the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1986, serving as its chairman in faculty practice in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and care of professional voice. Also serving as professor of otolaryngology and executive medical director of the Vanderbilt Voice Center, he attained emeritus status in 2018. Earlier, he served Northwestern University Medical School as junior faculty clinical fellow of the American Cancer Society, National Institutes of Health research fellow, resident in otolaryngology and maxillofacial surgery, and intern. Holding a BA from Bowdoin College, DMD and MD from Tufts University, and MS from Northwestern University, Dr. Ossoff reestablished the department of otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Voice Center and founded the advanced training laryngology fellowship program. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he was honored by the Triological Society with the 2022 Patrick E. Brookhouser MD Award for Excellence. In 2019, he was a guest of honor of the American Laryngological Association and earned a Presidential Citation from the American Academy of OtolaryngologyHead and Neck Surgery’s annual meetings.
