Realizing from then onward that education was a natural progression for her, she attended San Francisco State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1972. She then received a Master of Arts from the University of San Francisco in 1983. Thereafter, she became a certified teacher and school administrator in the state of California. At the inception of her career in 1973, Ms. Jones served as a teacher at Lakeport Unified School District in California for nearly a decade before climbing the ranks to assistant principal in 1982 and director of educational services and special projects in 1988. Departing from the school district in 2000, she subsequently went on to serve the Redwood City School District in California as a director of pupil personnel services for three years. Her concluding role in education was with the Santa Clara County Office of Education, where she was a principal and program manager of special education for numerous years prior to her retirement. Looking back on her fulfilling career, Ms. Jones notes that her time spent with the Santa Clara County Office of Education was a genuine honor, indicating that it also represented her 40-plus years of diligence, dedication and compassion for students and colleagues alike. To remain abreast of developments in her field, she maintained affiliation with the Association of California School Administrators, where she was active as the president for the Lakeport County chapter. As a testament to her success, Ms. Jones was highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the West and Who’s Who in American Education.
