238 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Hailing from a farming community and surrounded by individuals who exhibited a hard work ethic, Waylan Layne Hogg grew up on a farm with his family, including his aunts and uncles. Initially desiring to delve into business administration and marketing, he attended the University of North Texas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business marketing in 2005. However, he felt unfulfilled by the prospect of going into a business-oriented industry and turned to his religious faith for guidance. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Hogg was encouraged by his religious faith to return to his farming community and continue serving his family’s farm. Since returning to the farming capacity, he has served as a farmer for the Dawson County Farm Bureau. Alongside his efforts in farming and agriculture, Mr. Hogg has also been the successful owner of an RV park business since 2020. He attributes his success to the encouragement and support of his family, his uncle Glen and his teamwho work beside him in all his endeavors. As such, he is especially proud of his family for aiding in his efforts to achieve his goals, thereby creating a resounding career for himself within the agricultural industry. Outside of his work, Mr. Hogg is a board member of the Dawson County Farm Bureau, where he was once an election candidate for the FSA Board. Furthermore, he has served as an organizer for the Wayne Hogg Memorial Benefit for more than 10 years, a benefit fund and organization that raises money for the local community in Lamesa, Texas. Through its annual events, the Wayne Hogg Memorial Benefit also provides scholarships for high school students, as well as helps the underserved population – particularly children – around the holiday season. Likewise, the organization aids families with ongoing health concerns by providing funds to address financial burdens. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hogg would like to grow his farm exponentially. He also intends to improve upon the organic operations of the farm and witness the continued success of his career.
