Commencing his career in 1992 as a civil engineer technician for the City of Knoxville, Tennessee, he steadily rose through the ranks to a development specialist for the City of Johnson, Tennessee, a wastewater system development coordinator for the City of Kingsport, Tennessee, and a wastewater administrator for the City of Newport News, Virginia. Between 2003 and 2016, Mr. Koontz thrived as a water systems team leader for the Knoxville Utilities Board. Presently, he excels as the vice president of Utility Inspection Services, Inc., the president of Koontz Utility Group, and the founding owner and president of All American Construction. With All American Construction, Mr. Koontz specializes in asphalt construction and other utility jobs, and he intends to bring his son, Weston, into the family business so he may take the helm following his college graduation. Mr. Koontz also served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. Looking forward, he intends to continue excelling with All American Construction and take on more paving jobs. Drawing upon 40 years of experience in the automatic door industry, Leonard M. Pursell commenced his career in 1982 with Besam, through which he held a number of prominent roles until joining Stanley Black and Decker in 2014. Employed by Besam for 32 years, particularly during its transition into Assa Abloy, Mr. Pursell served the company’s engineering group and chaired all four of its standards through the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association. Notably, he helped form a government affairs committee group within the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) to help innovate legislation that would increase accessibility for disabled individuals on a nationwide basis. Since 2014, Mr. Pursell has excelled as the codes and compliance manager at Stanley Black and Decker, where he has achieved similar success. Notably, Mr. Pursell served as vice president and president of AAADM and has been a member of the association since its inception in 1994. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue serving Stanley Black and Decker, as well as serving grassroots organizations that help the disabled community.
