278 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PHARMACEUTICAL LAWYER AND EXECUTIVE Middleburg, VA Hoil Lee earned an undergraduate degree in accounting in his native Seoul, South Korea, and subsequently began working as an accountant for Samsung Electronics. Delving into contracts inspired him to enter the field of law, and thus, he immigrated to the United States to pursue a law degree. Mr. Lee earned a JD from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University and began working as an associate at a local Michigan law firm. However, he soon endeavored to establish his own firm and began serving as the owner and attorney of Lee Law in 2020, where he remains today. Mr. Lee notes that his experience in the legal profession has been unique as he is only one out of two Korean attorneys who practice litigation in the State of Michigan. Therefore, he was able to garner an excellent client base through his own private practice. Experiencing many career highlights, he is especially proud of closing several multi-million-dollar commercial real estate investments in Eastern and Western Michigan. Looking forward, Mr. Lee intends to expand upon Lee Law and hire more attorneys, as well as diversify the business sectors. ATTORNEY Lee Law Southfield, MI Millennium Magazine Featured Listee HOIL LEE HAROLD FREDERICK “RICK” BOARDMAN Upon receiving a JD, with honors, from George Washington University in 1965, Harold Frederick “Rick” Boardman took an attorney position with the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He then joined Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc., but took military leave after one year to serve his country. He was commissioned in the Air Force as a JAG Corps lieutenant, later captain. At the end of his service, in 1973, Mr. Boardman rejoined Hoffman-LaRoche, where he spent the next 20 years, becoming a VP general counsel and member of the board. In 1995, he briefly worked with Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vecchione (Now Gibbons P.C.), a pharmaceutical practice, before joining Rhône-Poulenc, Inc., the American chemical company of the Rhône-Poulenc group. There, he served as EVP and general counsel before transferring to Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, where he spent a year as a pharmaceutical worldwide general counsel. Rhône-Poulenc became Aventis Pharmaceuticals in 1999, and Mr. Boardman transitioned smoothly to the new company in a different leading role, acting as senior vice president until 2000, before rejoining Gibbons for another few years, leaving the firm in 2005.
