116 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION Diversified in two career paths – academia and military service – Dr. Melvin M. Vuk commenced his career as a student at the University of Illinois. Obtaining both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, he subsequently earned a PhD from Oregon State University in 1975. During his career, Dr. Vuk accrued significant experience in the United States Air Force, having risen to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He also served as an intelligence analyst for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. In the latter stages of his career, Dr. Vuk served Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an associate professor of global security and intelligence studies from 2005 to 2011, as well as president and faculty member at the Carlsbad branch of New Mexico State University and campus director at the University of the Southwest. Dr. Vuk is exceptionally proud of running a college campus with approximately 1,400 students, and, during his tenure, he helped enhance the enrollment rate. A member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and founding donor of the Air Force Memorial in Washington, Dr. Vuk intends to continue teaching and mentoring in the near future.
