Mr. Davis was highlighted as Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers, having also received the Robert N. Wilentz Lifetime Achievement Award from the Middlesex County Bar Association in 2014. Moreover, he has held an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell since 1981. Additionally, he has been profiled among Best Lawyers in America since 1987 and among New Jersey Super Lawyers since 2005. Mr. Davis has authored/co-authored texts and has been an invited speaker at expositions, meetings and conferences. Ahighlight of his career was his service as principal draftsman of the original New Jersey Franchise Practices Act of 1971. From 1984 and now of counsel, Alan E. Davis has excelled as a partner with Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith and Davis LLP, in which he focuses his practice on franchise law. Drawing upon over five decades in the legal industry, he was previously involved in the military as a Distinguished Graduate of the Rutgers University Army ROTC program. Thereafter, he was an AG captain on active duty as the post Chief Military Personnel officer at Headquarters, Fort Myer, Virginia, from 1966 to 1967. Prior to commencing his career, Mr. Davis enrolled in Rutgers University, from which he earned a BA in 1962. He later went on to obtain a JD from Columbia Law School in 1965 and was admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York. Additionally, he was admitted before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Congruent to his present role with Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith and Davis, Mr. Davis serves as Chairman of the Executive Compensation Committee for the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System.
