317 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TRANSPORTATION From a formative age, Lawrence Patrick Walker has exhibited a passion for flying aircrafts. Beginning at the age of 16, he started flying various aircrafts and eventually received a pilot’s license. Desiring to transform his hobby into a career, he attended Tarrant County College, from which he received an Associate of Science in electronics technology and a second Associate of Science in aviation maintenance technology. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Walker enrolled in the University of Texas at Arlington, earning an Associate of Science in general studies. Mr. Walker commenced his career with Southwest Airlines in Dallas, Texas, in 1994. Serving as the lead aircraft mechanic for 24 years, he ultimately retired from his position in 2018. During this time, he became a licensed mechanic, thereby allowing him opportunities to both fly and repair aircrafts. Although his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud of receiving his licenses, as well as the time he has spent flying. Notably, Mr. Walker is thankful for everything he has achieved over his longstanding career, and he attributes his immense success to his passion for his work. Additionally, he was equally inspired by his parents, Lawrence Edwin Walker and Hazel Yvonne Lewis, who supported Mr. Walker through all his endeavors. Driven by the motto, “Keep on flying,” Mr. Walker contributes to his local community in his spare time. He is a noted volunteer of the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Looking toward the future of his life and career, he intends to become a consultant in five years’ time and lend his wealth of knowledge to others who may require it.
