In addition to her ventures in the entertainment industry, Ms. Steward-Sciuto was an elementary school music educator and owned a private piano studio, where she taught children from ages 3 to 10. She contributes to Grief Share, a church program for individuals who are grieving the loss of family members. She has contributed to the Forever Family Foundation and was an organist, choir member and bell director at the Bristol Presbyterian Church. Ms. Steward-Sciuto was named Educator of the Year by the Kiwanis Club and Anti-Defamation League, as well as a Legion of Honor from the Chapel of Four Chaplains. Recognized by the Mayor of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, she also won accolades for her television, commercial and modeling performances through the Modeling Association of America International. Commencing her career as a participant in the Miss America pageants on both local and state levels, Sharon V. Steward-Sciuto received scholarships that helped her pursue her master’s degree in music education, which she earned from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1978. As time progressed, she became actively involved in the field of music and, subsequently, theater, which became her passion and primary focus. Over the course of her career, Ms. Steward-Sciuto acted in a myriad of plays, such as “A Doll’s House,” “The Little Foxes,” “The Children’s Hour” and “Misalliance.” Additionally, she acted in “Annie” and “All Roads Lead Home.” Alongside her pursuits as an actress, Ms. Steward-Sciuto pursued singing and performance, having performed “The Road to Freedom,” “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” and “Murder on the Golf Course.” She performed in various one-woman shows, including “Lord Byron: An Impression of the Man,” and displayed her talents with original works such as “Flutterby… the Metamorphosis,” which told the tale of her spiritual transformation following the death of her first husband.
