48 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Brian Biggane’s interest in sports journalism began during a five-year stint in his teens as a newspaper delivery boy, when he would digest the sports section of the paper before school. He attended St. Bonaventure University, where he spent his last five semesters on the school paper, The Bona Venture, and two semesters as sports editor. Upon graduating with a BA in English in 1972, he was hired by the Tonawanda News, where he worked for one year before serving the Niagara Falls Gazette from 1973 to 1977, Fort Myers NewsPress from 1977 to 1978, South Florida Sun-Sentinel from 1978 to 1980 and Palm Beach Post from 1980 to 2015. Mr. Biggane spent most of his career covering professional teams and has covered six Super Bowls, 10 Stanley Cup finals and five NBA finals. He also covered the World Cup in 1994 and the Olympics in 1996. Following his retirement in 2015, he wrote a biography of golf instructor Bob Toski, titled “The Elegant Mouse: The Bob Toski Story.” Since 2016, he has been a freelance writer for The Coastal Star, a monthly paper serving the South Palm Beach County coastal community. FREELANCE WRITER The Coastal Star Boynton Beach, FL Following many years of working in retail and as an entrepreneur, John F. Fernandez served as a banker for Bank of America. However, following the economic decline in the late 2000s, he endeavored to return to school. He received an associate degree from Edison State College, and while pursuing his degree, he rediscovered his passion for photography. Through Edison State College, he participated in school events and was hired as an event photographer, thereby fueling his desire to do photography on a full-time basis. In 2009, he spearheaded John Fernandez Photography, Inc., through which he serves as owner. Notably, his work was named to Best of Fort Myers, Florida, every consecutive year from 2018 to 2022. An associate and affiliatemember of the NABOR Leadership Academy, Mr. Fernandez is also associated with local Chambers of Commerce and previously served with the U.S. National Guard. His work has garnered him several accolades, including features in US Prime Realty, RES GESTAE, News-Press, Florida Weekly and Naples Daily News. He was also inducted into the Business Hall of Fame in 2020. Looking forward, he intends to witness the continued expansion of his business, make a difference in others’ lives, and pass down his legacy to his family.
