In 1968, he received a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Less than a decade later, he also earned an MBA in finance from Gannon University in 1977. Becoming a certified public accountant in 1977, Mr. Waldemarson also became a certified management accountant in 1982 and a chartered global management accountant in 2012. Over the course of his longstanding career, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand, for whom he served as a staff auditor. Following this tenure, he joined the Internal Revenue Service, where he excelled for 30 years as a financial products specialist. Outside of his primary career path, he has provided pro bono services as a certified public accountant to his community. To remain abreast of developments in his industry, Mr. Waldemarson has maintained affiliation with numerous organizations, such as the Institute of Management Accountants since 1976, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1981, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1981. He is a former treasurer of the Erie County chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, where he served for three years, as well as a former president of the aforementioned chapter’s organization for an additional three years. He cites this tenure as a notable moment in his career, as he was able to develop a website for the organization and served as an editor. Mr. Waldemarson was mentored greatly by his parents, as well as his great aunt and great uncle on his mother’s side. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue enjoying his retirement. D uring his senior year of high school, James D. Waldemarson read a school brochure from his school librarian. Thumbing through the pages, he discovered a significant number of courses he could complete that would result in him becoming a certified public accountant.
