96 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION and during this time, he earned a specialist in administrative leadership degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2004. Prior to his retirement, he was a superintendent for the Pardeeville Area School District. Mr. Knitt attributes his success to his upbringing; his parents taught him the value of diligent work and how to complete jobs adequately. Likewise, he credits his ability to ask questions without feeling shame, which has lent itself to his professional development. Outside of his primary endeavors, he has been a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club and Optimist Club, as well as a volunteer with the Second Harvest Food Pantry, which collaborates with Catholic churches and distributes food to groups once per month. In his spare time, Mr. Knitt enjoys partaking in local church events within the various school districts in which he has worked. He also spends his leisure time playing golf, reading and attending sports events. Inspired to enter the field of business by his accounting teacher, Earl “Gus” Knitt attended the University of WisconsinStevens Point and earned a BS in business education in 1979. During his collegiate studies, his professors served as outstanding mentors and affirmed his decision to enter business management. He commenced his career as a business education teacher for the Reedsville School District, serving there until 1987. Concurrently, he received an MS in education from the University of WisconsinWhitewater the same year. Following his receipt of his master’s degree, he served as director of business services for the Cudahy School District from 1987 to 1989. For the subsequent three years, Mr. Knitt was a financial consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, having thereafter been hired as director of business services for Monona Grove School District from 1992 to 1996. Shortly after, he continued in this capacity with the Pulaski Community School District until 2001.
