215 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS During his high school years, Dr. Paul-Neil Czujko endured a knee injury while running track. Following his injury, he underwent physical therapy to repair and heal his knee. As such, his experience with physical therapy inspired him to pursue the field on a professional scale, and he enrolled in Stony Brook University. Dr. Czujko received a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy in 1995, followed by a DPT in 2007. Currently, he is in the process of receiving a PhD in exercise and sports science at his alma mater to broaden his breadth of knowledge on sports medicine. Following his receipt of his doctorate degree, Dr. Czujko began his career with Lenox Hill Hospital, where he served as a senior therapist in their outpatient department until 2014. Congruent to this appointment, he also joined the faculty of Stony Brook University in 2004, where he was appointed an adjunct professor in the university’s physical therapy program. Since 2010, he has excelled with Stony Brook University as a clinical assistant professor and the director of clinical education. An orthopedic certified specialist via the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a certified hand therapy specialist via the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Dr. Czujko has maintained membership with several associations to remain abreast of developments in the field. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, a board member of the Committee of Content Experts and Specialty Council on Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, and an item writer for the Federation of State Board of Physical Therapists. Likewise, Dr. Czujko lends his expertise civically as a volunteer therapist on mission trips to Haiti and Tanzania, as well as a volunteer for Kids for Life. Notably, Dr. Czujko served as lead author of “The Importance of Early Recognition of Morel-Lavallee Knee Injury” in 2021, having previously written and co-written several articles in journals. Attributing his success to the support and encouragement of his wife, Diane, he considers receiving the Faculty Honor Award in 2009 as a highlight of his career.
