241 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS Deciding to apply his scientific background to the field of medicine, Dr. C. Steve Schramm has dedicated more than 35 years to family medicine. Since 1987, he has excelled as a physician at the Family Practice Center in Atlanta, having concurrently served as a physician at the Atlanta Wellness Center from 1987 to 1994 and at the Atlanta Occupational Center from 1987 to 2001. Earlier in his career, he served as chief resident at Richland Memorial Hospital at the University of South Carolina, where he also completed his internship and residency between 1984 and 1987. Dr. Schramm draws upon a Bachelor of Arts in biology, magna cum laude, from Harvard College in 1980 and an MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1984. Board certified in family practice, he has further lent his time and expertise to a number of hospitals, such as Northside Hospital as vice chief and chief of the family practice department between 1989 and 1992. Additionally, he served as a research assistant in studies on acute intermittent porphyria at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in 1979. Civically involved as well, he was an assistant to the varsity diving coach at Princeton University and a counselor and instructor at West Point Diving Camp. Impressively, Dr. Schramm scored in the 95th percentile nationwide for his re-certification of family medicine practice through board examination. He was also named Top Doctor by Atlanta Magazine and Castle Connolly each year between 2016 and 2020, as well as nominated in the physician category for the Georgia Health Care Heroes Award in 2001. Furthermore, Dr. Schramm was a guest speaker on migraine treatment at the GAFP Weekend Conference in 2001 and on Alzheimer’s disease at Northside Hospital in 1989. Looking toward the future, Dr. Schramm intends to continue practicing medicine for as long as he is able to do so. Ultimately, he would like to train mid-level providers to offer premium care, much like the care he also provides to every patient who enters the clinic’s doors. C.
