Following this period, Mr. Trost joined Orange County Health Care Agency in California, where he served as a marriage and family therapist II between 1990 and 1994. Congruently pursuing the PhD program in health psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, he joined the faculty of Kaiser Permanente in Santa Ana, California, in 1996. Mr. Trost remained with Kaiser Permanente as a licensed marriage and family therapist until 2020. Since departing from the facility, he has served as a clinician in private practice. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Trost has volunteered as a fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. During his undergraduate collegiate studies, he was also the executive photo editor for The Campus Times at the University of Rochester. Since becoming a licensed clinician, he has maintained active affiliation with the California Association for Family Therapists. To wit, he has been recognized extensively for his expertise, having been voted Teacher of the Year by the residency program at Kaiser Permanente during his tenure. Among his many career achievements, Mr. Trost is especially proud of being a faculty member in the family medicine residency program, where he trained up-and-coming physicians for more than 20 years. Toward the end of his tenure there, he was involved with the training of over 150 physicians, including his own family doctor. He attributes his immense success to his curious nature, as he has always been interested in helping others who are seeking aid. Looking toward the future, Mr. Trost intends to spend more time with his family and travel. Drawn to the field of psychology from a young age, Jonathan Trost pursued the discipline as an undergraduate student at the University of Rochester, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
