OKORIE Always desiring to help others, Comfort O. Okorie delved into the field of nursing to care for patients. A native of Nigeria, she earned a bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of Uyo prior to becoming a registered nurse at the School of Nursing of Immanuel General Hospital in Eket, Nigeria, in 1986. Serving as a midwife and registered nurse in Nigeria, Ms. Okorie subsequently earned a postgraduate diploma in public administration from the University of Uyo in 2002 and immigrated to the United States in 2006. While in the United States, Ms. Okorie served as a registered nurse in nursing homes, as well as a nursing supervisor for ManorCare Health Services-South from2011 to 2014. Subsequently, she was also a nursing supervisor for Symphony Crestwood Senior Living before attaining her current role as a registered nurse for the Elisabeth Ludeman Developmental Center through the State of Illinois Department of Health Services beginning in 2014. In 2016, she notably earned an MSN in public health from Grand Canyon University. Looking forward, Ms. Okorie intends to earn a doctorate degree and form her own health care agency. Receiving a Bachelor of Science from Ursinus College and his MD from the Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Raymond L. Smith has enjoyed a fruitful career in medicine for over five decades. He was an active full-time plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Reading, Pennsylvania, between 1976 and 2004. He had honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era from 1967 to 1969 as captain MC and in the United States Air Force Reserve until 1979. He served as plastic surgery chief at Reading Hospital from 1994 to 2004, as well as active at St. Joseph Hospital in Reading from 1976 to 1997 and as its plastic surgery chief between 1985 and 1989. Since 2008, he has been associated with the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center Tower Health Reading Hospital, becoming its division chief in 2018. A diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Smith earned a 50 Years of Service Award from the Berks County Medical Society in 2016.
