MARTIN As a lawyer for more than 50 years and former city councilman for Newport News, Virginia, for 12 years, Terrence K. Martin innately understands the intricacies of government, politics and legal proceedings. He received a JD from the University of Virginia in 1964 and, from 1965 to 1967, he served as a captain in the Military Police Corps of the U.S. Army. Following this tenure, he served as an assistant city attorney for two years and, subsequently, spend several decades as associate and partner at various Virginia-based firms. Mr. Martin established his own private practice in 1970, where he served for two years and again from 1998 to the present day. Concurrent to this practice, Mr. Martin was a councilman for Newport News from 1990 to 2002. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Martin serves the Newport News Sister City Program, where he has sat as treasurer of the board of directors since 2011. This role has afforded him myriad opportunities to travel to China. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the role of Santa Claus around the holiday season and teaching others how to play the harmonica. Chris Odom, Esq., earned a JD from the University of Alabama School of Law, was admitted to practice law and established the firm Pepper & Odom, all in 2012. Excelling in every endeavor to which he has put his mind, he is now recognized as partner of Pepper & Odom, where he specializes in personal injury law. During his legal studies, he clerked with a premier firm in New Orleans, where he was introduced to insurance defense and maritime and admiralty accident trials, as well as clerked with a Floridian law firm on vehicle accidents. After establishing Pepper & Odom alongside Everett Pepper in 2012, Mr. Odom served as lead counsel on his first jury trial; subsequently, he was recognized extensively for his courtroom prowess. To date, he has been recognized by National Top 100 Trial Lawyers, National Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers, Top 10 Best Attorneys for Alabama and Top 40 Litigation Under 40, among other recognitions and accolades.
