286 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, with honors, from Oakland University in 1978 and a Master of Basic Science in museum studies from the University of Colorado in 1991, Lynne Clos excelled in both the engineering and publishing fields for more than 30 years. Retired since 2012, she previously served as the editor of Fossil News in Boulder, Colorado, beginning in 1998, having formerly spent seven years as a freelance writer. Earlier in her career, Ms. Clos was a paleontology demonstrator for the Denver Museum of Natural History in 1989, as well as a product engineer for Rockwell International in Golden, Colorado, from 1981 to 1987. She commenced her career in 1979 as a corrosion engineer at GM Proving Ground in Milford, Michigan, spending two years in her role. Alongside her primary work endeavors, Ms. Clos is a past volunteer in the Paleontology Department of the Denver Museum of Natural History from 1988 to 1996, as well as a past volunteer for the Ross Perot Presidential Campaign in 1992 and for the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign in 2008. Notably, she excelled as a guest speaker on paleontology at various local schools in Colorado between 1994 and 2019, having also been a mentor for both junior high and high school students. For her efforts, she was honored with an Award for Educational Excellence in 1999. Maintaining affiliation with the Western Interior Paleontological Society, Ms. Clos served the society on their board of directors from 1989 to 1989 and again from 1998 to 2000, as well as their newsletter editor from 1994 to 2000. She is a former member of the board of directors of the Cycad Society and a current member of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology and the Association of Applied Paleontological Science. Likewise, Ms. Clos has demonstrating her expertise in a number of written works. In 2016, she authored “Escape fromAtlantis” and “Keeping the Silver Arowzna in the Aquarium,” and previously penned “North America through Time” in 2008 and “Field Adventures in Paleontology” in 2003.
