Licensed as a professional engineer and land surveyor in the State of New Jersey, Mr. Hoffman joined the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in 1966, where he served for 55 fruitful years as a research scientist. He ultimately retired in 2021. During his tenure there, he specialized in environmental engineering, wastewater and pollution control. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hoffman also became a certified professional planner in the State of New Jersey in 1983 and taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology for a number of years. He also served with the New Jersey Department of Health. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Hoffman has maintained affiliation with the Tau Beta Pi Association and was also a member of two committees affiliated with the New Jersey Water Environment Association. Attributing his success tohis natural enjoyment of working in the field of environmental protection, particularly within the State of New Jersey, Mr. Hoffman notes that New Jersey has always remained a steadfast example of society’s commitment to protecting the environment. He also cites these experiences as highlights of his career, especially his employment as a research scientist, for which he automatically qualified in light of his background in engineering and exceptional education. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hoffman intends to continue contributing to the wellbeing of the environment. He is open to taking on any new projects associated with the New Jersey Water Environment Association for those who are willing to listen to his expertise. Married with two sons, Mr. Hoffman’s wife is a retired educator, and his sons are an obstetriciangynecologist and a lawyer. Christian T. Hoffman Jr. has always been interested in the field of environmental protection, particularly after witnessing the societal need for conservation of the environment.
