Likewise, Mr. Flint is a talented musician who has spent significant time practicing and performing the harmonica for several decades. Between 1965 and 1985, he toured with Paul Baron’s Harmonica Rascals across the United States and abroad, as well as with the Wild Ones in Tucson. Since 2003, he has continued his efforts as a harmonica soloist and comic at the Northwest Senior Center in Tucson. Mr. Flint studied at the Art Career School in New York and the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Thereafter, he studied with Jorge Martinez, the assistant to the famous muralist Jose Clemente Orosco, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He also served in the U.S. Navy for three years and the U.S. Naval Reserves for two years. He received a Letter of Commendation from the Department of the Navy in 1979. Drawing upon more than 60 years of expertise in the creative arts, Willis Wolfschmidt Flint is a renowned fantasy- expressionism artist in Tucson, Arizona, who is most acclaimed for his illustrations, paintings and sculptures. Distinguished by his reliance upon bright, bold colors, he has been displayed in a myriad of one-man and group shows across the State of Arizona. Additionally, Mr. Flint has been featured in permanent collections at the Pima County Department of Transportation in Tucson, the Hardin County Historical Museum in his hometown of Kenton, Ohio, and the Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum in Bisbee, Arizona. Mr. Flint is equally known for hiswriting prowess. He has authored or co-authored numerous poems throughout his career, first with “BestLoved Contemporary Poems” in 1979. He has also authored a number of books, such as “A Treatise on Fantasy-Expressionism from the School of the Ragged-Edge” in 2003 and “Works byWolfschmidt” in 2013, which is an autobiography accompanied by fictional novellas and his paintings, sketches, poems and sculptures.
