His academic activities and relationship with Keck School of Medicine continued as he served as clinical instructor of medicine and associate professor of medicine, where he taught and trained gastrointestinal procedures to GI fellows in training. Dr. Beshay joined Facey Medical Group, a health care organization in San Fernando Valley, California, in early 1990, where he started his clinical career as a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. There, he treated patients with gastrointestinal diseases and performed thousands of procedures to aid in treating and managing complicated intestinal and liver pathology and to prevent cancer. Motivated by his passion for medicine, Dr. Beshay pioneered a research program that evolved into a premier research department through which he, with his colleagues and research team at Facey Medical Group, conducted clinical studies in gastroenterology and other medical fields. This helped in providing patients with cutting edge treatment and aided in developing many of the approved drugs and treatment over the last three decades. Dr. Beshay has maintained membership with medical societies and colleges. His work and achievements were recognized as he was promoted to fellow status in the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterology Association. He held directorship positions and served in hospital and medical committees, including as medical director of the endoscopy center and GI division at Facey Medical Group, medical director and chief of GI division at Provident Holy Cross Hospital, and executive board member and community board member at Provident Holy Cross Hospital and Dignity North Ridge Hospital. Dr. Magued F Beshay is a gastroenterologist with career spanning over three decades as a clinician, researcher, educator and administrator. After moving to the U.S. in the mid-1980s, he began his medical career at Michael Reese Hospital as a resident in pediatrics. From there, he moved to Keck School of Medicine at UniMAGUED F.
