She has been honored with Certificates of Achievement Bronze Standard on Blood Pressure Control Compliance and onDiabetes Control Compliance, a Certified of Achievement Gold Standard on Colorectal Cancer Screening Compliance, a Certificate of Recognition and a Firestarter Award. She also earned a Physician’s Recognition Award on Continuing Medical Education from the American Medical Association. Dr. Haywood is especially proud of serving as the lead for National Target Blood Pressure Control and the Cholesterol Initiative by the American Heart Association at Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, as well as physician lead of the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida team, which was one of five out of 1,400 institutions selected to receive a nationwide grant. Interested in health care from a young age, Dr. Colette Susan Haywood attended the Grenada School of Nursing, receiving an ADN and nurse-midwife degrees. Attending St. George’sUniversity inGrenada, she earned a BS in medical sciences in 2003 and MD in 2008. Relocating to the U.S., she completed a residency in Family Medicine at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in New Jersey and, later, an MBA in health management and policy at the University of Miami Herbert Business School in 2020. First serving as a midwife and registered nurse, Dr. Haywood has since held several roles. Since 2011, she has excelled at the Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida as a staff physician, having also thrived as director of adult medicine since 2015. She has also been an advisor for AdvisoryCloud since 2021. Likewise, she holds a Six Sigma Champion Belt. She is certified in health care quality management, patient safety and risk management, physician advisor and case management from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and was certified in IBM blockchain essential V2.
