Inspired by her high school best friend, as well as her best friend’s mother, Ms. Kimmons decided to enter the medical industry to help others. In 1998, she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of West Georgia, and in 1995, became a registered nurse in the State of Georgia. Additionally, she holds a certification as a chronic care professional. At the inception of her career, Ms. Kimmons served as a nurse for the Tanner Medical Hospital System and Tanner Home Health before serving in the same capacity for the Haralson County Health Department. Since 2012, Ms. Kimmons has thrived as a registered nurse and team lead at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Home Base Primary Care, in Georgia. Among her many career achievements, she is especially proud of receiving the Veteran Affairs Nurse Excellence Award in 2019, which was presented by the Secretary of State. She is also humbled by winning the Daisy Team Award and Magnet Champion of the Year award for her efforts and success in nursing. Established in 2015, Advantage Private Home Care is an independently owned health care business that provides individualized home care plans, consultations by caregivers and one-on-one personal care, hospice and transportation services, among other accommodations. Led by Daniel Levy as the owner and president, Advantage Private Home Care has been applauded for the business’ gentle and compassionate approach to patient care in the Atlanta area. As president, Mr. Levy maintains responsibility for finances, sales and employee management, as well as ensures that all patients under the facility’s care receive excellent services. Earlier, Mr. Levy served Maxim Healthcare Services as a recruiter, accounts manager and senior accounts manager for over 10 years. Thereafter, he served Amedisys, a health care company in Baton Rouge, as the area vice president of business for four years. His inspiration to enter the medical industry came fromhis own home care that he received after enduring an accident that resulted in several surgeries. Though he later received a BS in education from the University of Georgia, he decided to delve into the health care profession. For his success, he was profiled in the Atlanta Jewish Times.
