SMITH Drawing upon a BS in criminal justice from Kean University, Quincy J. Smith is a law enforcement official in Matthews, North Carolina. Currently serving as a traffic officer for the Matthews Police Department, he upholds several duties, such as responding to calls regarding vehicle collisions and working to reduce vehicle accidents. Earlier, he served as an officer for the University of South Carolina Beaufort Police Department and the Estill Police Department. In this role, he enforced both local and state laws for highways and provided security for civilians of the City of Matthews. Outside of his vocational efforts, Mr. Smith has volunteered as a water safety instructor at a camp in South Carolina and has been a successful educator on intoxication law. As a testament to his success, he was honored with the Ironman Award from the National Criminal Interdiction Conference and was named Officer of the Month by the Rotary Club in 2021.He also appeared in television shows including Live PD’s “PD Cam,” Discovery Channel’s “Body Cam” and Back To Basic Productions’ “Body Cam Cops.” In five years’ time, Mr. Smith would like to advance forward in the police force.
