He is also the founder and former president of the Georgia Airport Association and is further affiliated with the American Association of Airport Executives. Highlighted in several leading publications within his field, Mr. Fuller enjoys songwriting in his spare time. He hopes to one day receive a Grammy Award for his songwriting prowess. Inspired by his father, a licensed pilot, as well as his exposure to airport management while working at a local airport during his collegiate studies, Scott Byron Fuller is a noted expert in aviation with over 40 years of experience to his credit. He presently serves as the director of Gulf Shores International Airport at Jack Edwards Field. While in this position, he secured over $16 million in federal funding for improvements to the airport, as well as an additional $20 million in private funding for a new air service terminal and parking facilities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fuller served as the deputy director of finance and administration for the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority and the management of business development for Pan AmWorld Services, Inc. Likewise, he was named the director of aviation for Gwinnett County Airport in 1988, holding the prestigious role until 1997. Following this position, he founded Airport Technologies, Inc., through which he served as a consultant. One year later, he also created American Airports Corporation, thriving as the company’s chief operating officer for 10 years.
