50 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT After beginning her professional ventures as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York City, Liz Ryan decided to delve into the arts and entertainment arena. Through the Directors Guild of America, she graduated from their Producer Training Program in 1985 and has since contributed to more than 70 films and television productions across the United States and abroad. Serving as a director, assistant director, production manager and producer, she has participated in the creation of such films as “The Green Mile,” “Alien 3,” “Brokedown Palace” and “Waiting for Guffman,” among others. Likewise, she served as an assistant director on the pilot episode of the acclaimed television series “The Office” and contributed to the show’s success by designing the filming format for which the series has been known. Currently, Ms. Ryan is the producer and director of Ryanworks, Inc. Maintaining membership with Women in Media and the Alliance of Women Directors, she has won a myriad of accolades for her work, including a Director’s Guild Award for her work on “NYPD Blue” in 1996. Likewise, she earned the Frank Capra Award in 2008. She holds a BA from Harvard University. PRODUCER, DIRECTOR Ryanworks, Inc. Los Angeles, CA Drawing upon over 40 years of experience in art history and administration, Magda Salvesen is the curator of the Jon Schueler Estate, soon to become the Jon Schueler Foundation, in New York. She works with galleries and museums on Schueler exhibitions, assisting with the selection of paintings, the catalogues and marketing. Further outreach has included co-directing the video “Jon Schueler: A Life in Painting” and co-editing Schueler’s own autobiographical writings to become “The Sound of Sleat: A Painter’s Life.” Her interviews with artists’ widows and those who inherit or assume artistic legacies became “Artists’ Estates: Reputation in Trust,” Rutgers University Press (2005), republished in 2022. A respected lecturer in art and garden history, Ms. Salvesen taught at New York University from 2011 to 2021. She has traveled extensively in connection with art and garden demands, with “Exploring Gardens and Green Spaces: From Connecticut to the Delaware Valley,” WW Norton (2011) emerging from more local travels. She obtained MA degrees from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the Courtauld Institute in London.
