She has since maintained membership with the American Society of Safety Professionals, Blacks in Safety Excellence and the National Safety Council. For her excellence in the industry, Ms. Myleswas named a 2020 Rising Star of Safety by the National Safety Council, which is an honor bestowed upon an honoree who has demonstrating superb work results, leadership, technical expertise and employee engagement. As a result of this accolade, she was published in the October 2020 issue of Safety and Health Magazine. Additionally, Mr. Myles was the recipient of the Woman in Safety Excellence Award from the American Society of Safety Professionals. Looking toward the future, Ms. Myles intends to witness the continued growth and success of her career while pursuing additional networking opportunities. Joining L'Oréal in 2004, Laynnea Myles first served the acclaimed corporation as a senior safety, health and environmental specialist and a quality, safety, health and environmental manager from 2004 to 2014. Briefly departing from L'Oréal for four years, she returned in 2018 to serve as a director of environmental health and safety. Most recently in 2021, she assumed the role of assistant vice president of environmental health and safety, in which she specializes in implementing safe and environmentally compliant procedures for the corporation. Punctuating her time spent with L'Oréal, Ms. Myles was an environmental health and safety engineer with 3M from 2014 to 2017 and a senior safety manager with Luxottica from 2017 to 2018. Prior to embarking on her career, Ms. Myles received a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology, with an emphasis on occupational safety and health, from Iowa State University in 2004. While serving in her career, she attended Columbia Southern University, from which she earned a Master of Science in occupational safety and health in 2009.
