Gaspar Sr. helped found Frederick and Company, Inc., inMilwaukee in 1960. In 1975, he joined Robert W. Baird and Company and was promoted to first vice president and senior petroleum analyst, serving 34 years with Baird. During the early years of his career, Baird and Company expressed interest in Mr. Gaspar’s petroleum research. Thus, a collaboration started, and Mr. Gaspar began writing The Gaspar Report, a Baird research publication, in 1975 that focused on the national and international petroleum industry and was published by the firm for 30 years. Mr. Gaspar’s transition to Baird was a lightning rod of opportunity, allowing the firm to expand its client investment in sales and market penetration domestically and internationally, particularly in Europe and Great Britain. Mr. Gaspar attended Marquette University, receiving a BBA in finance and economics in 1958. After graduating, in June 1960, he was commissioned and served as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was presented with the Army Commendation Medal due to his service as Control Officer of the 593rd U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ headquarters staff in Granite City, Illinois. Recognized in the media for his expertise, Mr. Gaspar was honored over multiple years by The Wall Street Journal as among the top oil industry analysts. He is a member of the Financial Analysts Federation, Milwaukee Society of Investment Analysts, National Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts and Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was also cited in Barron’s Magazine and Forbes, among others. Mr. Gaspar is involved as the first founder of the Dominican High School Development Committee and organized the first board of directors for Milwaukee’s Nativity Jesuit Academy. He was a chairman of the board of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in Milwaukee, organizing a $26 million renovation and expansion project. For 32 years, he has been a member of the board of trustees of the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, serving as chairmanof theboard for 12years.
